Xbox Game Pass Gets Must-Play Cozy Game Today

Subscribing to Xbox Game Pass makes it practically impossible to ever run out of interesting games to play, but it’s unfortunately easy to overlook small indie releases. April is a stacked Game Pass month with 18 games announced so far, but a relatively new cozy game has a chance to stand out.

Game Pass is a great place to find and try cozy games, and there’s no shortage of them on the service. The genre is continually seeing new entrants, and when one really hits, it can become a time sink. Your new obession might have just arrived.

Tiny Bookshop Comes To Xbox Game Pass On April 10

Neoludic Games’ Tiny Bookshop isn’t your usual life sim cozy game, but it’s cozy nonetheless – and a real page turner of a game. You play the owner and proprietor of a mobile bookshop, which you tow behind your car to peddle your wares around town. Customers enter the store and divulge their interests and preferences, then it’s your job to recommend a new book for them to read. Knowing a bit of literature may give you a leg up, since Tiny Bookshop features real works, but it’s definitely not a requirement for enjoying the management sim.

Tiny Bookshop is a very relaxing blend of shop keeping and socializing. The game has a handful of genres that all the books are organized into, and you get to decide which books you have in stock each day, but you also spend plenty of time learning about the town’s residents and making friends. There’s also a fair bit of customization, letting you alter the appearance of your mobile bookstore and the decorations displayed.

Tiny Bookshop Adds To A Strong Game Pass April Lineup

Indie projects like Tiny Bookshop already have a tough time gaining traction, often due to smaller budgets, but also because they get drowned out by marquee releases. Coming to Xbox Game Pass will certainly get more eyes on Tiny Bookshop, but it has a lot of competition when looking at the service’s April games. Hades 2 is likely going to be a big draw, Vampire Crawlers has the potential to blow up, and Kiln‘s day-one release offers another charming option.

This is the real appeal of Game Pass, though – a wealth of options. Amid all the great games, you should make time to give Tiny Bookshop a try. It’s a novel and charming idea, and like many other cozy games, makes for a great palette cleanser. Tiny Bookshop is the perfect intersection between gaming and reading, and will hopefully find a new, wider audience when it arrives on Xbox Game Pass on April 10.
