Xbox Game Pass just released a huge list of free new games that subscribers can claim in the coming weeks, with massive new titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Hollow Knight: Silksong hitting the service soon. However, with all the upcoming games featured in the announcement, members may have missed a huge new RPG that is available to download right now.
In an announcement earlier this week on Xbox Wire, Game Pass members got a ton of new game announcements hitting the service throughout March. Included in that announcement was a surprise free release of a 2025 GOTY contender that many gamers agree deserved more recognition, and it’s an absolute behemoth of a game, estimated to take 140 hours to fully complete.
This Xbox Game Pass Freebie Will Keep You Busy
Many Gamers Think It Deserved GOTY
2025 was a wild year when you look back at how many incredible RPGs were released. With the unexpected mega-hit Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 eating up most of the conversation in terms of GOTY and going on to sweep The Game Awards in nearly every category it was nominated in, there were quite a few incredible RPGs that went somewhat overlooked.
Many players argue that, had Clair Obscur not been in the conversation, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 would have been a top contender for best RPG of 2025. And if you still haven’t gotten around to checking it out, you can download KCD2 for free on Xbox Game Pass now. It was officially added on March 3 for Game Pass Ultimate, Premium, and PC subscribers.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is massive, both in terms of the explorable world and the rich story and characters, and it’s estimated to take 140 hours to fully complete and nearly 60 hours just to complete the main story (per HowLongToBeat).

Don’t Sleep On This One
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is a highly recommended medieval RPG that fans of massive open-world games like Baldur’s Gate 3, The Witcher 3, or Skyrim will absolutely want to check out. Fair warning, the game will consume your life for hours if you let it, with incredibly immersive gameplay, powerful storytelling, and more.
The game currently has an 89 Metacritic score and an impressive 8.7 user rating. Further, both the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance and Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 are available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers, so if you want to experience the entire story from start to finish, Ultimate subscribers and above can check them out now.
