A Will Trent update reveals that one of the show’s new characters, Marion Alba, is not expected to return for the remainder of season 3.

Per TVLine, co-showrunner Liz Heldens shared that Marion is not expected to appear for the remainder of the season. She explained that the season has the highest episode count of the show to date, and this meant the opportunity to flesh out stories, but also that not every character could have a complete arc. However, she also revealed that, if season 4 is renewed, she would not rule out a return for the character. Check out Heldens’ full comments below:

Marion is not going to resurface before seasons’ end. It’s funny… when we started [Season 3], we were like, ‘Oh, 18 episodes is the biggest order we’ve ever done!’ And then when we got to the end, we were like, ‘We don’t have enough runway for everybody.’ I think that Gina Rodriguez is wonderful. She pops off the screen. We love her. It was an amazing experience to work with her, and I wouldn’t rule out her coming back in Season 4 at all.
