New reports unveil why the Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan parted ways with Paramount after having developed some of the network’s most popular shows, including Tulsa King, Lioness, and Landman. Earlier this week, it was revealed that the prolific television show creator will end his journey with Paramount and join NBCUniversal in 2029.

Now, new reports have surfaced to unravel the mystery behind Sheridan’s departure from Paramount. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the partnership had been rocky before the Paramount and Skydance merger, particularly in the network’s film division for rejecting the writer-producer-director’s feature script titled Capture the Flag.

The report also claimed that Paramount made it difficult for Sheridan to develop his action thriller F.A.S.T. with rival studio, Warner Bros.

The Wall Street Journal, on the other hand, claimed that the writer-producer-director’s departure from the studio was due to disagreements with the new CEO David Ellison and his team after the merger around potential new television shows, a decision to pass on a project and questions about the budgets for his shows.
