WATCH: World champions Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. back Men’s team with special wishes before T20 WC 2026

In a heartwarming display of national solidarity, the newly crowned world champions of the Indian women’s cricket team have rallied behind their male counterparts. As the Men in Blue prepare to embark on their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 campaign, the camaraderie between the two sides has reached a fever pitch.

Fresh off their own historic glory, having clinched India’s first-ever Women’s ODI World Cup title in late 2025, Harmanpreet Kaur and her squad are now lending their champion energy to Suryakumar Yadav’s men. This one-team spirit is setting a powerful tone for a tournament that promises to be a landmark event for Indian cricket.

World Champion India women rally behind men’s side before T20 World Cup 2026

The support from the women’s camp was led by captain Kaur, who exuded nothing but confidence. “Wishing Team India all the best for T20 World Cup. Play with full of your heart, enjoy, and we all know you are going to win this. Wishing all the luck,” she said in video posted by BCCI women on social media. Her words carry the weight of a leader who recently ended India’s long wait for women’s silverware by defeating South Africa in a high-stakes final at Navi Mumbai.

Smriti Mandhana, the vice-captain and one of the world’s most prolific batters, echoed this sentiment while emphasizing the quality of the current squad.

Wishing the best for the Indian Team, looking really good, we all are looking forward to another cup. But no pressure, and hopefully we can play some good cricket,” Mandhana stated. Her “no pressure” advice is particularly poignant, given how the women’s team overcame years of “near-misses” to finally stand atop the podium last year.

Adding an emotional layer to the wishes, star all-rounder Deepti Sharma, who was named Player of the Tournament in the 2025 World Cup, highlighted the advantage of playing on home soil.

Wishing all the very best, this is going to happen in India and it will be very special. Go get the cup home,” Deepti urged.

Meanwhile, dynamic wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh, known for her finishing fireworks, recognized the collective ambition of the nation: “Wishing you all the very best for the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, good luck guys.”

India Men’s outstanding T20I form and World Cup prospects

The men’s team enters the 2026 edition not just as defending champions, but as a side in clinical form. Under the leadership of Suryakumar, India have been a juggernaut in the shortest format. Following the retirement of veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli after the 2024 triumph, the New India have seamlessly transitioned into a younger, more aggressive unit.

In the lead-up to the 2026 World Cup, India secured a dominant 4-1 series win against New Zealand, highlighted by Ishan Kishan’s blistering century and Arshdeep Singh’s career-best bowling figures. This follows a highly successful 2025 season where the Men in Blue maintained a staggering win percentage, including a series victory against England and an unbeaten run to lift the Asia Cup.

With the tournament being co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, the Men in Blue will begin their title defense at the iconic Wankhede Stadium. With the blessing of the World Champion women’s team and a roster boasting in-form stars like Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma, and Jasprit Bumrah, the dream of a “Double World Cup” for India has never felt more attainable.
