Tottenham Hotspur target Sunderland star Dennis Cirkin

Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Dennis Cirkin from Sunderland in the Janaury transfer window, accoridng to TBR. Cirkin left Tottenham for Sunderland in 2021 and has established himself as oe of the best and important players for the Black Cats over the years.

Journalist Graeme Bailey told TBR: “You know, it was more of a logistical issue (Mathys Tel being omitted from Tottenham’s Champions League squad), and everyone forgets that because of the homegrown rules, Spurs lost three spots, which I think Newcastle also lost, if I’m not mistaken, down to 22. And when it’s only 22, it’s tight.

“Another reason I think they might go for Dennis Cirkin in January and bring him back from Sunderland is that he’s a homegrown Tottenham player, which would help with that situation.”

Cirkin is out of contract at Sunderland at the end of the season, and the Black Cats could be willing to cash in on him in the middle of the season and get a transfer fee.
