Titus Welliver’s 2026 Bosch Return In Crime Series With Rare Perfect Rotten Tomatoes Score Repeats A Season 1 Strength

After Bosch ended, it did not take that long for Titus Welliver to reprise his role multiple times, and his next appearance is now officially confirmed to happen in 2026, repeating a season 1 strength of the exciting crime series he will appear in. When it comes to book adaptations, Prime Video’s library of shows stands as a clear showcase that it knows what it’s doing.

Not only is Reacher one of Prime Video’s biggest series, but other book adaptations like We Were Liars, Maxton Hall, and more have also found success on the streaming service. Welliver’s Bosch is among such shows, and the franchise just keeps growing with multiple Bosch spinoff series, with one of them marking Harry Bosch’s 2026 return.

Titus Welliver’s Harry Bosch Is Confirmed to Return In 2026

After Bosch ended on June 25, 2021, Titus Welliver and more stars from the popular crime series returned in Bosch: Legacy, where Bosch was now a private investigator, not working anymore for the LAPD. The spinoff debuted on May 6, 2022, and ended after three seasons on April 17, 2025. The series finale introduced Maggie Q’s Renée Ballard, who went on to lead the next Bosch spinoff.

After a successful first season, Prime Video’s Ballard season 2 is now confirmed to be released in 2026. A new Deadline report revealed the news when announcing that Benjamin Bratt (Andor) joined the cast of the Bosch spinoff. While a specific release date was not confirmed, the fact that Ballard is coming back this year, with Bosch appearing, is exciting.

How Bosch’s Ballard Season 2 Return Will Repeat A Season 1 Strength

For Titus Welliver’s return as Harry Bosch in Ballard season 2, the Prime Video series will be repeating the tactic it used for the iconic character’s role in season 1. Given how he is the face of the franchise and an experienced private investigator, Bosch proves to be a big help to Ballard. However, he never overstays his welcome, keeping the show firmly focused on her.

Ballard season 1 has a rare 100% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes.

In Ballard season 1, Harry Bosch appeared in three episodes. The same is confirmed to happen in season 2, and that update comes straight from the franchise’s main star. Speaking to FabTV in February, Titus Welliver addressed Bosch’s return in Ballard season 2. According to the fan-favorite actor, he was excited to work with Maggie Q again, saying, “I’m going to do three episodes starting in February.”

I’m convinced this is the best-case scenario for Bosch fans. It allows Welliver to remain a key part of the franchise while still keeping the spotlight on Q’s Ballard in her own series. The latter is a fine character on her own, not being a lone wolf like Bosch, which puts a fresh spin on the long-running TV franchise that Bosch fans should be excited about.
