EA Sports recently revealed the list of toughest stadiums to play at in College Football 26. Unlike in Madden, EA Sports’ College Football games take into account how difficult it is to play an away game at a given location. This is seemingly decided through a mix of factors, such as a team’s winning record at home, as well as harder to quantify aspects like how rowdy the crowd gets. This intimidation factor is definitely why a location like Oregon’s Autzen Stadium makes the list, as its small size makes it one of the loudest stadiums in college football.
Looking at College Football 26‘s list of toughest places to play, published as part of EA Sports’ massive deep dive into Dynasty mode, there is an interesting pattern that emerges among the schools on the list. This is definitely something to pay attention to when selecting your Dynasty mode team, since you may not want to get stuck playing at some of these stadiums consistently. Playing difficult away games influences how much you’re affected by College Football 26‘s intimidation features that do things like obscure pass routes or make it harder to kick field goals.
The SEC Has More Of CFB 26’s Toughest Stadiums Than Any Other Conference
11 Of The 25 Teams Are In The SEC
Looking at the list of 25 toughest stadiums, 11 of them belong to teams in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). This includes the number one spot, LSU, whose Tiger Stadium is nicknamed Death Valley. According to ESPN, this nickname isn’t just because of LSU’s record at home, but also the intimidation factor of the stadium itself, which houses over 100,000 people. Although LSU might be the best example of the SEC’s intimidation factor, it is far from the only one on this list.

Every Confirmed Mode In EA Sports College Football 26
EA Sports just revealed the game modes coming to College Football 26 and some details about how returning modes have changed since last year.
Georgia’s Sanford Stadium also claims the number four spot on the list for the SEC. This is likely due to Georgia’s impressive 31-game winning streak at home, which puts it tied for first place with Alabama for the longest at-home winning streak in SEC history. The Bulldogs haven’t lost a home game since 2019, and will have a chance to extend this record when the 2025 season starts. This impressive win streak no doubt factored into EA Sports’ decision to place Georgia high on the list of toughest stadiums for away teams, and it’s hard to argue with the numbers.
The team Georgia is seeking to unseat for the best at-home streak in the SEC, Alabama, also makes the list at number five. Since their 31-game record-breaking streak for the SEC came to an end in 2019, Alabama had another 21-game winning streak which ended in 2023, and they haven’t lost a home game since then. Clearly, Alabama knows how to win at home, and I don’t envy any away team stepping into Bryant-Denny Stadium on game day.
These 25 Teams Have The Toughest Stadium For Away Teams To Play At
Aside from the SEC teams on the list, there are some other unsurprising inclusions in College Football 26‘s toughest places to play. Clemson’s Memorial Stadium is also nicknamed Death Valley, and there is an ongoing debate over whether they or LSU deserve the title more. Oregon’s Autzen Stadium has a reputation for being one of the loudest stadiums in college football, making it an easy inclusion on the list. The full list can be seen below, and I’ve marked SEC teams with an asterisk:
- Tiger Stadium | LSU*
- Beaver Stadium | Penn State
- Ohio Stadium | Ohio State
- Sanford Stadium | Georgia*
- Bryant-Denny Stadium | Alabama*

As isn’t uncommon for these types of lists, there is some debate over some notable snubs from College Football 26‘s list. Virginia Tech’s Lane Stadium, which was on last year’s list, is a good example of a stadium many would have expected to see here due to the passionate Hokies fan base. We’ll have to wait until the college football season kicks off in late August to see how well EA did with its assessments this time around.
