This Korean beef bowl recipe uses frozen sweet potatoes in the air fryer and a popular prepared BBQ sauce to simplify the cooking process.
Here’s a weeknight dinner that’s simple, savory, and social media-approved!
If you’ve spent any time on the foodie side of the internet, you’ve probably seen how ground beef bowls are everywhere, and for good reason. They’re quick to make, protein-packed, and endlessly customizable. Whether you’re meal prepping for the week or just need a fast and filling dinner, the ground beef bowl is the ultimate one-bowl wonder.
I’ve made this easy Korean beef bowl twice already this week!
Today’s version is all about flavor and ease, starring juicy seasoned ground beef drizzled with Bachan’s Japanese BBQ Sauce, roasted sweet potatoes, creamy avocado slices, and a big ol’ scoop of cottage cheese to bring the protein power home. It’s sweet, smoky, salty, and satisfying.
Korean Beef Bowl Recipe
yield: 4 SERVINGS
prep time: 10 MINUTES
cook time: 25 MINUTES
total time: 35 MINUTES
A sweet and savory ground beef bowl featuring sweet potatoes, sliced avocado and cottage cheese for extra protein.
1
Add the frozen sweet potatoes to an air fryer. Toss with olive oil and season with about 1/2 teaspoon The Blend, or to taste. Cook at 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes until roasted and caramelized.
2
Brown your ground beef in a skillet over medium heat with onions. Season with The Blend seasoning, which is salt, pepper, and garlic.. Once cooked through, stir in a few tablespoons of Bachan’s BBQ Sauce and let it simmer for a few minutes to soak up the flavor.
3
Assemble your bowl: start with the sweet potatoes, pile on the saucy ground beef, add sliced avocado, and finish with a generous scoop of cottage cheese.
Optional but encouraged: drizzle with extra Bachan’s and sprinkle with sesame seeds and/or scallions.

More tips for making this Korean ground beef bowl:
- Love spicy? Consider grabbing the spicy Bachan’s BBQ sauce! We love this one also. You could also add some hot honey or chili crisp oil.
- If anyone isn’t a fan of cottage cheese, it’s easy to leave out.
- If you are using this as meal prep, just divide out the ground beef and sweet potatoes in a container and hold back the avocado and cottage cheese until ready to eat.
You can easily make this into a Korean beef and rice bowl!
The second time I made this, I also made some white rice to serve along with this flavorful ground beef, and it was also a big hit! My family loved this easy meal idea, and I know yours will too. This bowl is proof that you don’t need a ton of ingredients or time to make something crave-worthy and healthier.
