Ted Lasso Still Dominating Apple TV+ 5 Years After 92% RT Premiere Season

This Apple TV+ comedy series is still trending on the streaming platform after premiering 5 years ago and not releasing a new season since 2023.

This celebrated comedy/drama hybrid series has made a major impact on Apple TV+’s slate of original series and proves to be a major draw for new customers to the platform. At the time of writing, the series has garnered more daily viewership than acclaimed series like Severance, Silo, and The Studio (via FlixPatrol).

Ted Lasso Is Still Pulling In Huge Streaming Numbers For Apple TV+

It may come as a surprise that only a handful of Apple TV original series are raking in more viewership than Ted Lasso this week. They include all new releases such as Chief of War, The Morning Show, and Slow Horses. This places Ted Lasso in the #6 spot on Apple TV+’s global streaming chart.

Ted Lasso has no immediate reason to be performing this well on Apple TV+’s global streaming chart besides the fact that it just may be the most popular series that Apple has ever created. It also has a high re-watch factor due to its mostly feel-good tone, making it a perfect comfort show that dedicated viewers can easily return to again and again.

With Ted Lasso season 4 currently in the works, now is a great time to dive into the series if you somehow missed out on the massive streaming phenomenon during the early 2020s. The timeless nature of the series, fueled by unwavering optimism and a career-defining performance by Jason Sudeikis, should continue to make it a staple of Apple TV+’s lineup.

There’s simply no other series on Apple TV+ that has pulled off this type of massive viewership for such an extended period of time like Ted Lasso has. A few Ted Lasso replacement series have filled the void, such as the popular Shrinking and the less favorable Stick, but Ted Lasso’s continued viewership proves that there’s truly nothing like the original.

Due to all of these ongoing factors, Ted Lasso season 4 has the potential to become the most-viewed season of all time on Apple TV+. With most of the main cast set to return, such as Jason Sudeikis as Ted Lasso, Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca Welton, Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent, Juno Temple as Keeley Jones, Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard, and Jeremy Swift as Leslie Higgins, Ted Lasso season 4 is undoubtedly going to be an enormous hit.

The only question about Ted Lasso season 4’s streaming success is just how massive it can be. The series is still in production, and Apple has not yet announced an official release date, but fans should expect it to arrive sometime in Spring or Summer 2026.
