The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 continued its high-octane journey at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi this Thursday, February 12. In the 18th match of Group A, cricket fans witnessed a fascinating David vs. Goliath battle as India took on Namibia. While the Men in Blue entered the fray as heavy favorites, the African nation provided one of the most talked-about moments of the tournament: the sensational dismissal of Indian captain and T20 specialist, Suryakumar Yadav.
Zane Green produces stunning stumping to dsmiss Suryakumar Yadav in T20 World Cup 2026 encounter
The highlight of the afternoon arrived in the 11th over, a moment that temporarily silenced the roaring Delhi crowd. India was cruising comfortably when Bernard Scholtz came into the attack to challenge the world’s most dangerous 360-degree batter, Suryakumar.
At 10.1 overs, the drama unfolded. Scholtz delivered a subtle, flighted length ball around off-stump, drifting it away in the air. “SKY,” looking to stamp his authority, danced down the track with the intention of launching an inside-out shot over the covers. However, Scholtz beat him with pure deception. The ball zipped past the bat, but the real magic happened behind the timbers.
Zane Green, Namibia’s wicketkeeper, displayed reflexes that would rival a world-class sprinter. Anticipating the spin, Green kept his hands low and close to the stumps, collecting the ball and whipping the bails off in one seamless, blur-like motion. Even as Suryakumar attempted to plonk his bat back into the crease, he knew he was second-best to Green’s glovework. The skipper departed for 12 off 13 balls, leaving India at 120/3 and giving Namibia a massive moral victory.

India posts a huge score despite Namibia’s late bowling surge
While Green’s brilliance provided a viral moment, the Indian batting unit had already laid a ferocious foundation. Opening the innings, Ishan Kishan was in a destructive mood, blasting a 20-ball fifty and finishing with 61 off 24 balls at a staggering strike rate of 254.16. Alongside Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma, Kishan propelled India to a record-breaking Powerplay score of 85/1.
The middle overs saw a slight dip in momentum thanks to Namibia’s captain, Gerhard Erasmus, who turned the game on its head with a brilliant spell of 4/20. However, Hardik Pandya ensured the total crossed the psychological 200-run mark. Pandya’s explosive 52 off 28 balls, featuring four massive sixes, provided the late-innings fireworks India needed.
The final few overs were chaotic, with India losing five wickets for just 41 runs as Namibia’s death bowling and some sharp fielding resulted in multiple run-outs. Despite the late collapse from 205/4 to 209/9, India remain the firm favourite.
