Gyokeres has said yes to Arsenal

Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres has given the green light to join Arsenal after speaking with sporting director Andrea Berta, according to Correio da Manha.

The Gunners are expected to sign a new centre-forward. Gyokeres has recently emerged as the top target and reports claim that he is prepared to move to the Emirates Stadium.

The Swede has been convinced to join after conversations with Berta. Arsenal now need to negotiate payment terms with Sporting for the former Coventry City marksman.

Gyokeres has a £85 million release clause in his deal, but Sporting are prepared to sanction his sale for around £60m as a show of gratitude for his contributions towards the club.

The 26-year-old has amassed 43 goals from as many appearances for Sporting this term. It remains to be seen whether he can replicate the same level of displays for the Gunners.

Apart from a marquee striker, Arsenal are expected to spend big on a versatile winger, defensive midfielder and back-up goalkeeper this summer.
