Strawberry, Mint and Matcha: These Spring-Inspired Treats Are Here to Summon Warmer Weather

Are you feeling personally victimized by the multiple snowpocalypses of 2026? (Hi, it’s me, currently buried under two feet of snow!) Then you could probably use a lot more than just a taste of spring right about now. But we’ll take what we can get and, fortunately, some of our favorite fast food places are really delivering with new spring-inspired sweets and sips as we ever-so-slowly trudge toward the changing season.

With St. Patrick’s Day just a few weeks away, we’re seeing the usual minty-fresh suspects popping up here and there. But if mint isn’t your thing, don’t worry — there are plenty of new spring menu items that go far beyond the Shamrock Shake. Lots of places are dropping new menu items inspired by fruity and floral flavors reminiscent of springtime blooms. Think strawberry, lavender, lots of matcha and even a little banana, too.

Maybe if we all enjoy these little tastes of spring, we can collectively summon some warmer weather? It’s worth a shot!

11 New Fast Food Menu Drops to Get a Little Taste of Spring

Of course, we have to kick things off with the obligatory mention that McDonald’s Shamrock Shake is indeed back for St. Patty’s season, as of Feb. 17. For the uninitiated, the shake blends creamy vanilla soft-serve with mint-flavored “shamrock syrup” and is topped with a big dollop of whipped cream. The Oreo Shamrock McFlurry is also back for a limited time, and is basically a thicker version of the Shamrock Shake with the delicious addition of Oreo cookie pieces mixed in.

Starbucks’ New Iced Matchas and Seasonal Spring Menu

Keep it green for St. Patty’s season without that minty-fresh feeling by welcoming in two fruity matcha bevs newly added to Starbucks’ year-round menu. Launched earlier in February, matcha fans can now enjoy the Starbucks Iced Double Berry Matcha — made with layers of strawberry puree and matcha topped with raspberry cream cold foam — and the Iced Banana Bread Matcha with brown sugar syrup, banana cream cold foam and caramel crunch topping.

Starbucks will also begin launching its full spring menu on Mar. 3, including the new Iced Lavender Cream Chai, and the seasonal return of fan favorites like the Iced Lavender Cream Matcha, the Iced Lavender Latte and the Lavender Crème Frappuccino. There’s also the new Toasted Coconut Cream Cold Brew, Toasted Coconut Latte and Iced Ube Coconut Macchiato. And don’t forget to catch some adorable Frog Cake Pops while they last, too!

Cinnabon’s Berry Extra Treats

This February, Cinnabon launched its Berry Extra menu with a selection of new strawberry cheesecake-inspired treats that can be enjoyed from now until May. There’s the Strawberry Cheesecake Topped Bon, Strawberry Cheesecake Topped CinnaSweeties and Strawberry Cheesecake Topped Center of the Roll, all featuring smooth cheesecake frosting, strawberry puree and a sprinkling of crunchy streusel. Don’t forget the Strawberries and Cream Chillatta to wash it all down!

Rita’s Shamrock Cream Ice and Frozen Matcha

As of Feb. 23, Rita’s has brought back their Shamrock Cream Ice for a limited time. Get it as a sippable Misto Shake or Blendini custard treat — both with Oreo cookie pieces — or as a refreshing Gelati topped with a dollop of custard.

If you’re not into mint but still want to enjoy some fresh spring sips, Rita’s also just launched some new frozen matcha drinks. The sippable treat blends matcha with Rita’s Vanilla Italian Ice and can be enjoyed as-is, or with strawberry or caramel. Even better, these matcha drinks are permanent menu additions, so you don’t have to miss out if your Rita’s isn’t yet open for the season.

Cold Stone Creamery Spring Flavors

Cold Stone Creamery just dropped two mouthwatering, fruit-infused flavors that are absolutely worthy of spring: Strawberry Marshmallow and Lemon Cake Batter ice creams. You can enjoy them however you want, of course, but Cold Stone recommends trying The Berry Best S’more — Strawberry Marshmallow ice cream with fudge, marshmallow cream and graham cracker pie crust — and the Lemon Berry Batter, which is a mix of Lemon Cake Batter ice cream, lemon Oreo cookies, lemon pie filling and strawberries. These fruity, fresh flavors are available now through May 12.

Dairy Queen Mint and Savannah Bananas Treats

Dairy Queen launched its lineup of Mint Crunchin’ Cookie treats on Feb. 23, including the Mint Crunchin’ Cookie Dipped Cone — that’s vanilla soft-serve dipped in a minty coating with chocolate cookie crumbles — and the Mint Crunchin’ Cookie Parfait layered with Oreos and minty cookie dip. There’s also the fan-favorite Mint OREO Blizzard Treat returning as March’s Blizzard of the Month, featuring vanilla soft-serve blended with crème de menthe syrup and swirled with crunchy Oreo cookie pieces. Be sure to order a sidecar of extra Mint Crunchin’ Cookie coating to dip every spoonful into more of that minty goodness!

Plus, springtime and baseball just go hand-in-hand, so it’s fitting that Dairy Queen also launched a collab with the Savannah Bananas on Feb. 23. The Savannah Bananas Split Shake features fresh banana, strawberry topping and chocolatey shavings blended with real milk and crowned with whipped topping.

Scooter’s Coffee Spring-Inspired Menu

Scooter’s Coffee debuted a sizable spring menu starting Feb. 19, including classic flavors like caramel and cinnamon alongside inspired seasonal sips like the new Strawberry Shortcake white mocha latte with a strawberry drizzle and graham cracker crumbles. There’s also the Lavender White Mocha and Berry Lavender Matcha — both of which can be ordered hot, iced or blended — as well as the Lavender Ice Berry Red Bull Infusion. Plus, for a limited time, they’re serving up Mini Chocolate Mint Chip Cookies for a little taste of St. Patty’s Day.

Wendy’s Thin Mints Frosty

On Feb. 16, Wendy’s brought on the return of their Girl Scout Thin Mints treats. You can opt for the classic Thin Mints Frosty with minty cookie crumble sauce and cookie butter swirl. Or, you can upgrade to the new Thin Mints Frosty Fusion, which adds real Thin Mint cookies to the mix. Even better, Wendy’s is a licensed partner of Girl Scouts of the USA, so you’ll also be helping out the troops no matter which treat you try.

Jack in the Box Matcha Menu

Jack in the Box marked a pretty exciting milestone for matcha lovers on Feb. 19 as it launched not one, but two matcha drinks on its menu. Plenty of coffee places offer them these days, but Jack in the Box is actually one of the first fast food chains to debut a matcha drink of its own. There’s the Matcha Iced Latte made with real matcha, sweetened cream and vanilla, and the Oreo Matcha Shake — a creamy vanilla shake blended with matcha tea and Oreo cookie crumbles, and a whipped topping.

Costco’s Double Chocolate Mint Sundae

If you’re headed to your nearest Costco to stock up your pantry, don’t forget to swing by the food court before you head out. The members-only warehouse club’s beloved $1.50 hot dogs and giant pizza slices were recently joined by a new sweet treat that’s already rivaling McD’s Shamrock Shake and Wendy’s Thin Mints Frosty. Costco’s Double Mint Chocolate Sundae combines minty-fresh soft serve with layers of chocolate fudge sauce, and is topped with a sprinkling of crunchy chocolate cookie crumbles — now available for a limited time.

Dunkin’ Spring Menu

Dunkin’ may not go traditionally green for St. Patrick’s Day this year, but a leak revealed that they’re likely launching a massive spring menu on Mar. 4, as reported by trusted food influencers like Snackolator and Markie_Devo. It’s slated to include three new matcha latte flavors — Bananarama, Goin’ Nutty and Blueberry Pie — if you want to sip a green drink that’s not minty this March.

In addition to the new matcha flavor, Dunkin’ appears to be going even more bananas with a Banana Puddin’ Cloud Latte, Nutty Banana Dunkalatte, Monkey Business Latte, Strawberry Banana Daydream Refresher, Bananaberry Protein Refresher, Banana Shakin’ Espresso and lots more as it’s rumored that you’ll be able to add banana syrup and banana cold foam to any drink you like. But if berries are more your style, there’s also been mention of new Berry Acai, Berry Strawberry and Berry Blue Lemonade refreshers, as well as six new, fruity, zero-sugar energy drink flavors.
