Star Wars Game’s First 2026 Update Is A Promising One

Star Wars Zero Company recently received its first update of 2026, with developer Bit Reactor confirming that the XCOM-like turn-based tactics game is still on its way. There is no indication that it wasn’t, to be clear, but the fan who prompted this response from Star Wars Zero Company’s developer also wasn’t wrong to have their doubts, given the unstable foundations that most upcoming Star Wars projects seem to be standing on.

Per Twitter/X, Bit Reactor’s response was short and sweet. And, with a release window of 2026 that is seemingly committed to, the studio likely has its head down in order to meet that goal.

Star Wars Zero Company Is “Still Cooking”

Assuming that full-scale marketing will be arriving soon, including a concrete release date to look forward to sometime later this year, Bit Reactor’s response to what was essentially a random fan’s concern is more significant than it might initially seem. The concern about its release is undoubtedly shared among many other Star Wars fans who have Star Wars Zero Company wishlisted on Steam or rank it as one of their most highly anticipated games of 2026.

To hear “We are still cooking. Stay tuned,” from Bit Reactor is a godsend, particularly as it perhaps clarifies there is nothing for fans to be wary about. Until more official news is shared—or, ironically, if bad news happens to follow this statement—fans can rest easy now and let Bit Reactor cook.

Future Star Wars Games Come With A Lot Of Skepticism

It isn’t at all surprising why Twitter/X user Khroe Tasogare would’ve been worried about Star Wars Zero Company’s development. A glance at future Star Wars games illustrates that none appear to be safe from the chopping block, and for several games in development, it’s hard to know when we may ever hear about them again.

Star WarsKnights of the Old Republic remake was in a lot of hot water, for instance, and Star Wars Eclipse and Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic are presumably so far out that they may as well be found in the galaxy far, far away, where they take place. After fans have been burned one too many times, it’s wonderful to hear that Star Wars Zero Company is proceeding steadily and it will hopefully be able to meet its release window without issue.

Of course, if Bit Reactor and EA’s Star Wars Zero Company does need to delay to ensure its quality is excellent, it will hopefully be able to do so, as well, without fear that its delay is indefinite. For now, Star Wars Zero Company is scheduled to be released in 2026.
