Cyberpunk 2077 is easily one of the most expansive and immersive open-world sci-fi games out there, and has come a long way since its rocky and controversial launch back in 2020. It’s arguably one of the most impressive turnarounds of any major IP in gaming history, going on to become a virtually universally loved CD Projekt Red title.
While Cyberpunk 2077 fans are waiting with bated breath for updates regarding the official sequel, code-named Project Orion, there’s an exciting new official release scheduled for April 8, 2026 (via Dark Horse).
Cyberpunk 2077: Songbird Officially Drops On April 8
Cyberpunk 2077 is making an official return on April 8 with the official release of the Songbird PVC Figure, available to pre-order now from Dark Horse comics. It’s a 9″ scale model figurine of Songbird, “the brilliant NUSA netrunner and master of cyber espionage [who] drives the story of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty.”
Songbird serves as President Myers’ trusted right hand, and is responsible for breaking into “the most secure systems and reaching beyond the Blackwall with the promise to save V from the Relic chip’s slow death.” It’s a unique collectible that’s designed to accompany the previously released Cyberpunk 2077: Solomon Reed figure.
The collectible figure is scheduled for an official launch on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, and is listed for roughly $70 USD on the Dark Horse website. Fans of the franchise can pre-order their Songbird figurine now via Dark Horse Direct, and the figure is described as capturing “Songbird’s signature look, featuring her denim jacket, holstered cyberdeck, and unique cyberware facial markings.”
Cyberpunk 2 Launch Is Still A Way Off
While CD Projekt Red has officially confirmed that the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel is in early development, they’ve clearly got their hands full with The Witcher 4 development at the moment. As such, Cyberpunk 2, otherwise referred to as Project Orion, is still quite a way off yet, and likely won’t release anytime soon. Even the earliest estimates place the sequel’s release close to 2030, but hopefully it will be well worth the wait.
Fans are hopeful that the next Cyberpunk 2077 game will have learned its lessons from the first one’s release, which was in a sorry state when it first dropped back in 2020, despite coming a long way since then. Given the expected long wait for Cyberpunk 2, fans are hyping up the project as one of the most anticipated next-gen sci-fi releases currently in the works.
