NeoBards Entertainment’s Silent Hill f is a big swing from publisher Konami in the aftermath of Bloober Team’s well-received Silent HIll 2 remake. Silent Hill f is eschewing the series’ defining, eponymous town, instead taking players to 1960s Japan. With famed writer Ryukishi07 on board, Silent Hill f is shaping up to be an interesting installment in a series still trying to re-find its footing.
Silent Hill f‘s release date is officially September 25, but the exact time the game becomes available depends on your time zone and platform. When You Can Start A New Horror Journey
Silent Hill f‘s release times were revealed by the official Silent Hill social media accounts. For those playing on console – PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X/S – you will be able to play at midnight local time, unless you’re in the continental United States, in which case Silent Hill f unlocks at midnight Eastern Time. For those purchasing via Steam or the Epic Games Store, you’re also beholden to the midnight ET unlock time, regardless of region.

The one caveat for the PC release schedule appears to be if you purchase Silent Hill f on Xbox for Windows. If you go through Microsoft’s storefront, the game will go live concurrently with the Xbox release, at midnight local time (or slightly earlier in the U.S.), so if you’re looking to play as soon as possible on PC, that may be your best option.
What We Can Expect From Silent Hill F
A New Kind Of Silent Hill
Silent Hill f has been a bit of a question mark ahead of release, with longtime fans worried it will make too many departures from the series’ identity. In our SIlent HIll f review, we noted that the game “focuses on two trademark features: endless waves of fog and acute psychological suffering.” Beyond these cornerstones, though, SIlent Hill f does appear to tread new ground for the series, even if it’s not a pioneer for the wider survival horror genre.
Its story appears to be a strong point, and successfully builds on the series’ penchant for mystery, offering very few answers on a first playthrough, with new game plus acting as an iteration on the base narrative. Critical reception to Silent Hill f has been sound so far, but user reviews won’t start pouring in until after the above release times.
