Hot on the heels of the record-breaking debut of Scream 7, the production timeline has just been revealed for the next sequel.

The opening weekend of Scream 7 is already off to a great start, with Thursday previews grossing $7.8 million at the box office, a new high for the franchise. Days before the film’s release, the filmmakers were already starting to speculate about Scream‘s future.

Now executive producer Marianne Maddalena has told Variety that Scream 8 will begin filming in fall 2026, while anonymous sources added that a production start date hasn’t been decided yet.
