Amorim on Fernandes & Raya

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim spoke on Bruno Fernandes and David Raya following the 1-1 Premier League draw with Arsenal on Sunday.

The Red Devils had a slow start against the Gunners, but they broke the deadlock before the interval from a sensational Bruno Fernandes free-kick.

Declan Rice put the Gunners level in the second half, but the Red Devils could have won the game if not for some world-class saves from David Raya.

Speaking after the game, Amorim heaped praise on Fernandes, he said: “We need more Brunos – players with his quality and availability.”

The manager was then asked about the missed chances. He credited Raya for his efforts, he added: “We have to give credit to the goalkeeper of Arsenal.”

United had opportunities to secure three points against the Gunners. They need a similar performance when Real Sociedad visit them in the second leg of the Europa League round of 16 on Thursday.

The Red Devils must beat Sociedad to make the last eight of the competition where they could face FCSB or Lyon.
