Roma have completed the signing of Brazil international Wesley from Flamengo, in a deal reportedly worth €25m plus €5m in add-ons.
The 21-year-old right-back, who made his first two appearances for Brazil’s senior team in March, joined Flamengo from Clube Atletico Tubarao in 2020.
Wesley helped the Rio de Janeiro club win the Copa Libertadores in 2022 and was part of the team that reached the last 16 at this year’s Club World Cup, before losing 4-2 to Bayern Munich.
He had been expected to move on after attracting interest from several European clubs, and Flamengo gave the green light to his exit after signing Emerson Royal from AC Milan.

Wesley has signed a five-year contract at the Stadio Olimpico and will wear the number 43 shirt, becoming the 46th Brazilian to represent Roma.
He is the third senior player to join the Giallorossi ahead of their first campaign under Gian Piero Gasperini, after former Lens midfielder Neil El Aynaoui and Brighton loanee Evan Ferguson.
