Huijsen on his way to Madrid

Real Madrid are set to beat Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool in the race to sign Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen, according to Marca.

The Spain international joined the Cherries from Juventus last summer and he has had a brilliant debut campaign in the Premier League.

He has a release clause worth £50 million in his contract and reports claim that Madrid are in the front seat to secure his signature.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have contacted his representatives, but Huijsen has a clear ambition of joining Los Blancos.

The Spanish giants are close to finalising personal terms with the centre-back and will soon negotiate payment terms with the South Coast side.

The club are prepared to pay the release clause over three instalments. Bournemouth are willing to accept such an agreement.

It appears only a matter of time before Huijsen makes the move to Madrid. The news will be a huge setback for Chelsea in particular.

The London giants have been keen on signing the Spaniard since January and they are now poised to miss out on his services.
