Real Madrid eyeing shock move for Man Utd target

Wharton to Madrid?

Real Madrid are weighing up a shock approach for Manchester United target Adam Wharton during the summer transfer window, according to Teamtalk.

The La Liga giants are planning to sign a marquee midfielder this summer and they have now earmarked Wharton as an ideal acquisition.

Wharton has been with the Eagles for the past couple of years, but he has his sights on joining a Champions League club in the near future.

United have made initial contact with the player’s entourage, but they look set to face fierce competition from Los Blancos for his signature.

Arsenal and Manchester City are keeping tabs on the Blackburn Rovers graduate too and are not planning to make formal bids for him.

Palace are expected to demand at least £90 million for the defensive midfielder and the price tag could be higher if there is a bidding war.

United will hope that they can convince Wharton to return to the North West amid interest from Madrid in the upcoming transfer window.
