Reacher Will Recreate Its Netflix Replacement’s Explosive Action Scene In Season 4 With One Dark Twist

Reacher season 4 is going to recreate one of the most explosive action scenes from its Netflix replacement. Based on Lee Child’s Gone Tomorrow, Reacher season 4 is not coming out anytime soon because the Neagley spin-off show is scheduled to premiere on Amazon Prime Video before its release.

Despite this, it is hard not to anticipate its release because it is adapting one of the best books from Lee Child’s Jack Reacher book series. Rated 4.19 on Goodreads, Gone Tomorrow serves as the thirteenth book in the original novel series. While it features many compelling story beats, its opening arc features one of its most gripping moments.

Interestingly, this opening sequence from the book, which the show will adapt in season 4, is quite similar to how Reacher‘s Netflix replacement unfolds in its early moments. A closer look at Reacher season 4’s book choice reveals many intriguing narrative parallels between Reacher and its biggest Netflix rival.

Like The Night Agent Season 1, Reacher Season 4 Will Likely Begin With A Compelling Subway Sequence

Reacher‘s Netflix replacement, The Night Agent, begins with a white-knuckling sequence in which Peter Sutherland notices a mysterious bag on a subway train. Realizing that it is a bomb, he races against time and tries his best to ensure all passengers on the train are safely able to leave before it is too late.

By adapting Lee Child’s Gone Tomorrow, Reacher season 4 will begin with a very similar sequence, where Jack Reacher will spot a potential suicide bomber on a subway train. He will run through an entire mental checklist one can use to determine whether the woman he suspects is a suicide bomber.

Once the mysterious lady checks all the right boxes, Reacher will try his best to save her and the other passengers on the train before disaster strikes. Peter Sutherland almost manages to save the day in The Night Agent by helping the train’s passengers escape, but one passenger still ends up dead.

Gone Tomorrow Shares Many Parallels With The Night Agent

Apart from featuring a subway bomb scene in its early moments, Lee Child’s Gone Tomorrow, like The Night Agent, also includes everything from a government conspiracy to national security threats. …After adapting Lee Child’s Gone Tomorrow, Reacher will have some glaring parallels with The Night Agent, making the Netflix series a worthy replacement for the Prime Video show.

Up till now, Reacher and The Night Agent were only compared because they were the best-performing action crime thrillers of rival streamers. Most of their so-called similarities were rather superficial and at the surface level.
