PlayStation Plus Free Open World Game Is Zelda Meets Assassin’s Creed

PlayStation Plus has become all the more compelling of a paid offering over the last few years, with good value available regardless of which of the three tiers you subscribe to. That said, if you’re willing to bump up to the Extra tier for $5 extra per month, then the options on the table rapidly become a lot more varied.

As part of that, those who do pay for Extra get access to everything in the Essential tier, as well as access to the game catalog, which allows players to download and play hundreds of games, as long as they remain part of the service.

Though there are far too many to jump into in one article, one underrated open world game is well worth your consideration, and available at no extra cost beyond your Extra subscription.

If You Like Zelda, This Is The PlayStation Plus Game For You

Those currently signed up to PS Plus Extra also gain access to the Ubisoft+ Classics range, which currently includes 2020 action adventure Immortals Fenyx Rising. Developed by Ubisoft Quebec, the game follows the titular Fenyx as he sets out on an quest to save the Greek gods from certain doom.

Along the way, you’ll be fighting all sorts of mythological beasts while at the same time being empowered by the abilities of the Gods themselves. All of that leads directly to a clash with Typhon, the deadliest Titan in Greek mythology, in a story that’s actually a lot more fun than it gets credit for.

As long as you take the game in the way it’s intended, as a breezy, action-packed romp, then it really is well worth your time, and absolutely warrants a playthrough if you’re looking for your next pull from the PS Plus catalog.

Outside of Immortals Fenyx Rising, there are a ton of great releases from the development and publishing giant that could easily help to while away hundreds of hours. Those include the full Assassin’s Creed range, all the way up to Valhalla, as well as all of the Far Cry games up to the sixth in the series, Primal, New Dawn, Rainbow Six Siege, For Honor, and Watch Dogs.

Between them, they just about cover all of the different tastes out there, but even if you don’t find anything there, you still have the much wider PS Plus catalog to choose from as well.
