Netflix has many excellent TV shows, but three of them have emerged as the streaming service’s clear favorites, and subscribers would be well served by binge-watching any of them this weekend. While there are many popular licensed series on the streamer, Netflix’s Originals still tend to be the top performers worldwide. That is no surprise, as viewers flock to fresh content.
Over the years, Netflix has released many exciting shows in a wide range of genres. There are psychological thrillers like Adolescence, spy thriller series like The Night Agent, comedies like Emily in Paris, fantasy shows like The Witcher, and many more. However, despite there always being new shows to binge on Netflix, these three series are the streamer’s most popular.
Netflix’s 3 Most Popular TV Shows Have Something In Common
Netflix makes publicly available the data for its most-watched TV shows, with the streamer’s list for English-language series being unsurprising for those aware of what Netflix is putting out year after year. Among Netflix’s most popular shows of all time are entries like The Night Agent, Adolescence, and more. That said, three of them stand a step above the others for a very simple reason.
Those shows are Stranger Things, Netflix’s flagship series for the past decade, Wednesday, Jenna Ortega’s viral dark series based on a popular franchise, and Bridgerton, the spicy and romantic period show that adapts a popular book series. What they all have in common is the fact that the three Netflix Original series have two seasons each on Netflix’s top ten list.
Of the three, Bridgerton ranks the lowest, with season 3 at 9th and season 1 at 7th. Then, surprisingly, comes Stranger Things. The 5-season sci-fi series has its final entry, Stranger Things 5, in the 4th spot, with season 4 one step above it, in 3rd. Finally, Wednesday season 2 ranks 5th, while season 1 exploded to lead the chart with a wild 252.1 million views in its first 91 days.
How Netflix’s 3 Biggest Shows Are Perfect For A Weekend Binge
Netflix’s three best shows make for great picks for a weekend binge as the end of the week nears. Besides their immense popularity with viewers, all three shows have positive scores from critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, Wednesday has a high 80% critics’ score, with Bridgerton a little above it at 82%, and Stranger Things leading the pack with a massive 90%.
Another positive aspect of a weekend binge is that all three Netflix series have multiple seasons for subscribers to get lost in during the weekend. Wednesday has two, while Bridgerton season 4 recently debuted, and Stranger Things ended in December 2025 with season 5. The shows present charismatic characters, fresh concepts, exciting mysteries, and more, making them Netflix royalty.
