Noni Madueke could be out for an extended period of time after being hauled off at half time in the 1-1 draw with Man City at the Emirates Stadium yesterday. The England international winger starred before his substitution, and after feeling some discomfort in his knee manager Mikel Arteta opted to take Madueke off at the half way point.
Now there are concerns internally that Madueke may have some ACL damage and could even need surgery in what might be a long-term spell on the sidelines for the former PSV Eindhoven and Chelsea man.
Madueke has impressed in recent games, despite having yet to register a goal or an assist, and Arsenal fans are delighted with the player’s start to life for the Gunners.
However, the player may now need time to undergo surgery and heal and may be out of action until well after the New Year if concerns over a possible ACL injury are indeed true. The player – who joined Arsenal in a deal worth close to £55 million in the summer from Chelsea – will learn more in the coming days with regard to the injury severity.
