Saka to return next month

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has said that Bukayo Saka could return to first-team action following the international break.

The England international has been sidelined since December with a hamstring injury, but he is anticipated to return soon.

It was initially predicted that he would be available in early March, but Arteta has hinted that he could be back in a few weeks.

He said: “After the international break, let’s see where he is — his progress is really good, he’s really willing, as you can imagine, so we are positive that in a few weeks, he’ll hopefully be back.”

Arsenal have missed the presence of Saka on the right wing and his arrival could provide a huge boost for their Champions League campaign.

The Gunners are more or less out of the Premier League title race. They are 15 points behind leaders Liverpool, having played one game less.

The club are poised to make the Champions League quarter-final to face Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid. Saka’s presence would be a big boost.
