Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has provided a fresh injury update on Cole Palmer ahead of the Carabao Cup third round tie against Lincoln City on the road tomorrow.
The England international started against Manchester United last weekend, but he was substituted after just 20 minutes on the clock as he was struggling with a groin issue.
The injury was not serious to be substituted, but Maresca did not want to take a risk with Palmer, considering the Blues were playing with 10 men after Robert Sanchez‘s red card.
Speaking in today’s pre-match presser, Maresca said that there are no fresh injuries from the United game, but Palmer will need to be assessed ahead of the League Cup tie at Lincoln.
He said: “Cole is probably is the only one that we need to assess a little bit. The rest are okay, just to recover from the last week.”
Chelsea are one of the favourites to win the Carabao Cup and they will be aiming to go all the way to lift the trophy this time around.
