Manchester United were reportedly pushing to land Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kaua Santos this summer.
The Red Devils were determined to bolster the goalkeeping department over the summer and they were linked with many names.
Emiliano Martinez and Senne Lammens were mentioned as the top targets and they eventually signed the latter from Antwerp.
Bild today provide a different side of the story. They claim that United initially wanted to land Santos from Eintracht.
They made an offer worth €30m for the talented Brazilian star, but the proposal was turned down by the German side.
Eintracht made it clear that they would not contemplate his departure for less than €60m despite his recent knee injury.
Santos was also pleased to prolong his stay with the Bundesliga giants, who had just qualified for the Champions League.
The 22-year-old recently returned to the starting XI after his injury lay-off and looks set for his breakout season at the club.
