Manchester United star Victor Lindelof wants to return to Portugal after his contract expires at the end of the season, according to Record.

The Sweden international has been a fringe player for the Red Devils this campaign. He has struggled to come off the bench under manager Ruben Amorim.

Lindelof has a contract until June this year and Record report that the Red Devils have no plans of prolonging his stay beyond that period.

The same outlet claim that the centre-back is also prepared for a new challenge and would be tempted to return to Portugal with Benfica.

Lindelof made a huge name for himself at the Primeira Liga giants and a reunion could be on the cards. Benfica are in contact with his agents.

Aside from the Swede, the likes of Jonny Evans and Christian Eriksen are also expected to leave United at the expiry of their deals this summer.

Casemiro could also be offloaded amid interest from Saudi Arabia.
