Manchester United have confirmed that Patrick Dorgu will be available for the first leg of the Europa League round of 16 against Real Sociedad on Thursday night.
Dorgu received a red card for violent conduct against Ipswich Town earlier this month. He was subsequently suspended for the FA Cup fifth round loss to Fulham at home.
The left-back’s dismissal will only apply for two more domestic games and he will therefore be available for the Europa League clash against Sociedad at the Reale Arena.
United have generally struggled against Spanish opposition in Europe. They could face another tricky encounter versus Sociedad, who are not in the best of form themselves.
The game could be decided by fine margins. United need to be much better in the final third and must capitalise on any chances to find the back of the net.
Dorgu’s presence is a boost for the Red Devils. His strong defensive skills could come in handy in preserving a clean sheet against the La Liga outfit.
