Manchester United have been offered the opportunity to sign Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi from Besiktas, according to The Daily Mail.

The 29-year-old spent eight seasons with Leicester City, but he was sold to Besiktas last summer for a package of around £8 million.

Ndidi has since been a key player for the Turkish giants, and he has been promoted as the vice-captain due to his excellent displays.

Despite this, he could be on the move this winter. Ndidi has his sights on returning to English football before the transfer window closes.

The same outlet claim that the Red Devils are among the clubs that have been offered his services, but they are yet to make a formal approach.

United are known to be eyeing a new defensive midfielder and Ndidi could be a good addition to their ranks without a significant outlay.

It remains to be seen whether they make an official bid to Besiktas.
