Man Utd make Kobbie Mainoo decision after Bruno Fernandes’ injury

Mainoo won’t leave United in January

Manchester United have no desire to part ways with midfielder Kobbie Mainoo after a hamstring injury sustained by Bruno Fernandes against Aston Villa yesterday.

Fernandes has been United’s main creator over the past five years and he has been injury-free throughout. However, he has now sustained a hamstring injury, which will keep him out of action for some time.

Mainoo has been angling for a loan move away from the Red Devils amid his lack of playing time. He is likewise open to the prospect of a permanent transfer away from the club during the winter transfer window.

United have now decided to keep him to compensate for Fernandes’ injury absence. Mainoo also suffered an injury in the lead-up to the Villa game yesterday, but he is anticipated to return in the next week or so.

The Red Devils face a daunting challenge against Newcastle United on Boxing Day. They could field Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte in central midfield against Eddie Howe‘s side.
