Man Utd handed fresh injury blow for Man City clash

De Ligt to miss Manchester derby?

Manchester United have been handed a fresh injury blow ahead of the Premier League derby against Manchester City on Sunday.

The Red Devils have had a dismal league campaign and they have picked up just 37 points after 30 games into the season.

United face a tricky challenge against Pep Guardiola‘s side on Sunday. Ahead of the game, there is some worrying news.

Matthijs de Ligt picked up a knock in the 1-0 loss at Nottingham Forest and he is deemed doubtful for the weekend derby.

The Dutchman has been a vital figure in the heart of the backline. In his absence, Harry Maguire could make the XI.

United have nothing to play for in the Premier League, but the fans will expect a strong derby showing with a victory.

This would provide some momentum ahead of the first leg of the Europa League quarter-final against Lyon on the road.

The Red Devils will travel to the Groupama Stadium for the first leg on the road scheduled to be played on Thursday night.
