Man Utd handed Baleba boost

Manchester United have been handed a big boost in signing Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Carlos Baleba this summer, according to The Sun.

The 22-year-old was a top target for the Red Devils last summer, but they could not find an agreement with the Seagulls for the player.

Brighton wanted at least £115m to part ways with their prized asset, but United were reluctant to offer over £80m for the ex-Lille man.

Baleba’s form has dipped significantly since the transfer saga, but United continue to rate him and are prepared to try again for his services.

The Sun now claim that Brighton are aware of the Red Devils’ interest and could be prepared to provide a discount on the price this time around.

With Baleba’s average performances over the last few months, they could be prepared to accept less than £100m for the highly-rated midfielder.

United have already spoken with the player’s entourage and look poised to make a formal approach when the transfer window reopens again.
