Man City will look to build on their midweek win at Fulham when they host Sunderland this afternoon.

Pep Guardiola’s side edged a nine-goal thriller at Craven Cottage, although the Catalan is unlikely to have been impressed by City’s defending in the latter stages.

They will be tested again by a Sunderland side who could, and maybe should, have taken three points at Liverpool on Wednesday night.

The Wearsiders, who start the weekend in sixth place, hit the woodwork twice and had an injury-time effort from Wilson Isidor cleared off the line, frustrating their bid to claim another statement win on their return to the top flight.
