Mainoo to Man City?

Manchester City are reportedly lining up a shock approach for Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo.

The England international was keen on leaving the Red Devils on loan before the summer transfer deadline, but the hierarchy declined his request.

Mainoo was only a substitute in the recent Manchester derby and there are still big questions regarding his future ahead of the New Year.

Teamtalk now claim that the Cityzens are weighing up a shock approach for the United graduate, who is presently valued at around £70 million.

In our view, it is highly unlikely that United will consider the prospect of selling Mainoo to an arch-rival in any of the future transfer windows.

The speculation is probably agent-driven to warn United about the player’s stance. Mainoo could ultimately push to leave if his game time does not improve during the first half of the ongoing campaign.

Chelsea and Bayern Munich are among the player’s admirers. Napoli also made an enquiry for the highly-rated star earlier this summer.
