Liverpool have endured a miserable week with morale-sapping defeats to Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain but they need to bounce back when Fulham visit Anfield this afternoon.

Arne Slot’s side were dreadful in losing 4-0 at the Etihad in the FA Cup last Saturday and equally toothless in the 2-0 loss at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday night.

The return against PSG is on Tuesday but, before that, Liverpool have to take a step closer to a top-five finish in the Premier League by seeing off the Cottagers.

Fulham will arrive on Merseyside chasing a European place themselves and Slot accepts it’s another difficult game for his side.
