Kane on his way to Liverpool?

Liverpool are planning to beat Manchester United to the signature of Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane this summer, according to El Nacional.

The Red Devils were keen on signing the England international from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023, but Spurs preferred to sell him abroad.

Kane has been a key player for Bayern over the past 21 months. He has been superb for them this campaign with 32 goals and 11 assists so far.

He looks on course to win the first major trophy of his career. Bayern have a six-point lead in the Bundesliga and are favourites to clinch the title.

El Nacional now claim that Kane is seriously considering a return to the Premier League this summer.

The England captain has a secret £64 million release clause in his contract that he can voluntarily activate.

United are still interested in his services, but Liverpool are reportedly best placed to sign him, as per reports.

Kane is likely to prefer the Reds who are challenging for the top-flight title and are guaranteed Champions League football.
