Liverpool could make a surprise move for Chelsea defender Levi Colwill this summer, according to Rousing The Kop.

The Merseyside giants are preparing for a busy summer transfer window and there could be some high-profile departures.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah could leave when their contracts expire at the end of June.

It is now reported that the Reds could revive their interest in signing Colwill, should Van Dijk head for the exit door.

The 22-year-old has been a mainstay in the plans of manager Enzo Maresca this campaign, but the Blues could be open to a sale.

The London giants are close to breaching PSR limits and may be tempted to sell Colwill to secure pure profit in their books.

Liverpool have their sights on signing a left-footed centre-back if Van Dijk leaves. Goncalo Inacio and Dean Huijsen are also on their radar.

The Reds could be prepared to spend £40-45m on a new centre-back.
