Isak out for months with leg fracture

Liverpool have suffered a massive injury blow following their 2-1 Premier League win over Tottenham Hotspur on the road.

The Reds moved within goal difference of the top four after a solid showing against Spurs. Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike were the goalscorers for the Merseyside giants.

Despite the win, the Anfield outfit ended the game on a sour note with Isak picking up a serious injury. It is now revealed that he has a leg fracture and could be out for months.

The Sweden international made a big impact against Spurs but it came at a cost after Micky van de Ven’s rash challenge in the lead-up to the opening goal.

With Mohamed Salah also away on international duty with Egypt, the onus is on Ekitike to stand out for the Reds. He has netted five goals in his last three league appearances.

The Frenchman has been one of the club’s best performers in the final third and could be key to keeping them in contention for Champions League football next campaign.
