Liverpool could be favourites to sign Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi on a free transfer at the end of the campaign, according to Sport.
The England international underwent a medical with the Reds last summer. He was on the cusp of joining them before Palace pulled the plug on the deal.
Guehi’s current contract expires at the end of June next year, and he is expected to walk away from the Eagles on a free transfer next summer.
Barcelona recently made contact with the player’s agents, but they have pulled out of the race as they cannot meet the salary requirements.
This has put Liverpool in pole position to land the 25-year-old on a Bosman deal, given they are prepared to make a strong financial proposal.
The Merseyside giants are expected to offer a significant signing-on fee on top of a lucrative salary to secure Guehi’s signature on a free transfer.
Talks are underway with his representatives over a summer move.
