In Portugal, Sporting moved level on points with leaders Porto after a narrow 1-0 win over Estoril Praia.
Luis Suarez scored the only goal of the game to move Rui Borges’ side above Jose Mourinho’s Benfica into second spot.
Porto, however, have a game in hand and could go three points clear with victory over Arouca on Monday.
