GTA 6’s Latest Trailer Officially Confirms Major Visual Upgrade

Because so little about the story and gameplay has been officially shared or leaked, all Grand Theft Auto 6 fans can go on at the moment is the spectacle of its graphical fidelity, as evidenced by comparisons between Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto 6. The former is undoubtedly gorgeous for an open-world role-playing game that was released in 2018, but the latter is already making strides to make Rockstar’s previous games look inferior on last-gen hardware.

For instance, Reddit user Fun_Philosopher_2535 has pointed out how “detailed, realistic, and next-genGrand Theft Auto 6’s visuals are compared to those of Red Dead Redemption 2 by comparing images of each game’s iguanas. And, if this much effort was put into making iguanas look better than they had, the overall visual quality of Grand Theft Auto 6 should be sensational.

To be fair, iguanas in Red Dead Redemption 2 do look incredibly iguana-like already. That then makes the extreme photorealism for iguanas in Grand Theft Auto 6 all the more impressive, demonstrating how big a leap in visuals players can expect when the game (hopefully) launches this November.

As user Fun_Philosopher_2535 states, “For a minor element like Iguana they could’ve used the same model for GTA 6 and no one would’ve cared.” Now, that may or may not be true, given how closely fans are sure to critique and dissect Grand Theft Auto 6 when it is eventually released, but it is certainly notable that Rockstar has chosen not to simply reuse an older asset or take it and improveit significantly.

On the other hand, user Area_Ok is concerned with this being what AAA studios like Rockstar have become preoccupied with: “This is exactly the kind of stuff that drags game development into decade-long timelines.” Especially for something as seemingly minor and trivial as an iguana that players may never closely inspect, it will be interesting to see whether these visuals are worth the wait fans have endured to finally have the game in their hands.

GTA 6 Trailer 3 Can’t Come Soon Enough

Now that we have seen such a graphical leap in Grand Theft Auto 6 Trailer 2, the bar is probably set astronomically high for many fans for Trailer 3. Few fans may expect to see this upcoming trailer meet the bar they have set for themselves, but any new content or footage from Grand Theft Auto 6 will surely be mulled over with the same intensity as the last two trailers.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled to be released for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19, 2026.
