Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage’s Montana Jordan Explains Easter Egg

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage actor Montana Jordan and executive producer Steve Holland discuss a Big Bang Theory Easter Egg that appeared in season 2’s premiere. The spinoff series stars Jordan as one of the titular characters, Georgie Cooper, and Emily Osment as Mandy Cooper.

In the first episode of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage season 2, Georgie takes over McAllistor Auto & Tire. He proceeds to suggest a name change for the auto shop, Mr. Tire. While this sparked a ton of discussion about a potential name change in the series, Holland and Jordan shut down those rumors.

In an interview with TV Insider, Holland revealed that the business would not be changing its name, at least not anytime soon. “The Dr. Tire nod in the premiere was just a little Easter egg for people who are in the know,” he explained. The executive producer further elaborated, “The name’s not getting changed just yet, but it’s just to sort of look to the future and a confirmation that Georgie has these ambitions that won’t be stopped.”

As Big Bang Theory fans know, Georgie is the brother of Sheldon (Jim Parsons), who owns a successful chain of tire stores called Dr. Tire. The hit sitcom often referred to the shop, even calling the business owner the Tire King of Texas. Leonard (Johnny Galecki) and Sheldon have also visited one of its many locations in the show.

Jordan discussed how his plans for the shop’s future could create tension among the series’ characters. The actor revealed that there would be a lot of ups and downs when it comes to the company and its development. “In business, you get ahead and then you fall back again. That’s just what happens; that’s part of business. So yeah, there’s gonna be a lot of back and forth.”

Holland chimed in and agreed that the characters would struggle and still have a lot of maturing to do. “It’s gonna be slow growth for the two of them, and that’s part of the fun of it.”

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage airs new episodes every Thursday at 8:00 PM EST and 5:00 PM PT on CBS.
