Wolves boss Rob Edwards has said he understands the anger of fans at Molineux as some supporters turned their backs on his players during a 4-1 home defeat by Manchester United.
Edwards has lost all four games since taking charge, while Wolves have now lost eight in a row to equal their longest-ever losing streak in league history.
It is 43 years since Wolves had such a bad run and relegation already looks nailed on.

Plenty of Wolves fans stayed outside of the stadium until the 15th minute in protest at the club’s current performance on and off the field, while more turned away from the action in the closing stages.
“I understand the frustration,” Edwards said. “I won’t tell fans what to do. I’d love them to support the players but they have to see effort and commitment in return.
“Mistakes were punished and that filtered through. There was an anger in the stadium. The lads are trying. The supporters are angry and I get it.”

“It’s the toughest league in the world,” observed former Middlesbrough manager Edwards. “We came into a team who hadn’t won since April. I wasn’t anticipating a quick turnaround.”
Edwards’ side have picked up just two points from their opening 15 games this season and remain 13 points from safety.
They are guaranteed to be bottom at Christmas.
