Fans of the Fallout franchise have been waiting patiently for any news and updates on the next mainline game, Fallout 5. However, with Todd Howard and Bethesda remaining notoriously tight-lipped on details about the next game, players are left speculating over the future of the franchise.
That said, there’s plenty of Fallout content currently out there for players to enjoy, and on Friday, April 10, fans will be getting the first of several new Fallout releases to keep them somewhat distracted while they wait for news on Fallout 5 (via Merchoid).
Fallout Returns On April 10
Fallout’s most beloved companion and best boy, Dogmeat, officially returns on April 10 with a unique collectible from Merchoid, the Dogmeat Fleece Blanket, which is available for pre-order now. The fleece blanket is listed for $87.99, is made from 100% Polyester, and measures approximately 137 x 178 cm, or roughly 4.5 x 6 feet.
The blanket is one of several upcoming Fallout-themed collectible pieces of merchandise, with multiple new items on the way in the coming weeks. On April 10, in addition to the Dogmeat Fleece Blanket, there are also two new Fallout glass bottle collectibles slated for release: the Nuka Mix and Nuka Quartz Glass Bottles.
Further, there’s a Fallout-themed XXL Mousepad up for pre-order that’s planned for an April 10 release as well, not to mention the Nuka Cola Fizz Club Bundle, which includes “iconic items” like various Fallout pins, unique signs from across the in-game universe, and different bottle/cap collectibles. This is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of new and upcoming Fallout gear from Merchoid, with a trove of unique collectibles scheduled to release in 2026.
Fallout 5 Feels Forever Away
While there’s a ton of new Fallout gear and collectibles anticipated for release soon, there’s not much solace knowing that Fallout 5 is still way off from being released. According to Bethesda studio head Todd Howard, it’s all hands on deck right now for The Elder Scrolls 6, and it’s likely that Fallout 5 won’t even be close to releasing before TES6 is complete.
Conservative estimates place Fallout 5‘s release date around 2030 at the earliest, so fans are going to want to buckle up for a long ride and look for the small wins along the way. With the Amazon Fallout series’ second season releasing to critical acclaim and the show’s future looking very promising, there’s still a lot to look forward to as a Fallout fan before the next mainline game finally drops.
