Arteta on Raya vs Chelsea

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has heaped praise on goalkeeper David Raya following the club’s 2-1 Premier League win over Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners registered a second-straight victory after a hard-fought derby against the Blues. William Saliba and Jurrien Timber both scored from corner kicks.

Arsenal still had to work hard for the victory and should be thankful to Raya for some sensational saves. He pulled off one in stoppage time to ensure the Gunners picked up maximum points.

Speaking after the game, Arteta said on Raya: “The last save that he made, fabulous. We shouldn’t be in that position  We are really happy because we know we had two difficult games in the last week or so.”

The Gunners have moved five points clear of Manchester City at the top of the league standings with the victory. The Cityzens have a game in hand against Crystal Palace which has yet to be rescheduled.

Arsenal‘s next league game will be against Brighton & Hove Albion on the road on Wednesday night. The Cityzens will be in action against Nottingham Forest at the Etihad Stadium on the same night.
