ENG vs IND: Harbhajan Singh recommends dropping Nitish Kumar Reddy in bold move ahead of Manchester Test

As India heads into the must-win Manchester Test trailing 2-1 in the series, fans and experts are abuzz with speculation over possible changes to the playing XI. Adding to the conversation, former cricketer Harbhajan Singh has suggested a bold change, aiming to strengthen India’s chances in the crucial clash and reignite hopes of a series comeback.

Harbhajan Singh suggests a bold change in the playing XI

Meanwhile, Harbhajan once again backs Kuldeep Yadav, reiterating that the left-arm spinner should feature in the playing XI. He highlighted how Kuldeep’s ability to turn the ball both ways can trouble England’s free-flowing batters, potentially turning him into a mystery bowler who can strike at crucial moments. He also backed the Kuldeep previously for the second and third Test.

“I had said before the Lord’s Test and also for the Birmingham Test that Kuldeep should play. Because the kind of free flowing batting these Englishmen do, it is not that easy to him. If such a spinner spins it both sides, then he can become a mystery bowler and take wickets at crucial times,” Harbhajan said in a conversation with SportsTak.

Harbhajan further emphasized that in Test cricket, it’s not only about waiting for the new ball, if nothing significant happens after a few overs, Kuldeep has the ability to break through. He suggested that if it were up to him, he would drop Nitish Kumar Reddy and bring Kuldeep straight into the team.

“In Test cricket, it is not just that they are waiting for the new ball. Let a few overs be bowled. If nothing much is happening, then Kuldeep Yadav can take wickets. If it was my team, I would drop Nitish and bring Kuldeep directly in the team,” Harbhajan added.
