Elden Ring Reforged Is Essentially An Entirely New Game

Since its release back in 2022, Elden Ring has cemented itself as one of the greatest video games of all time. Considered FromSoftware’s magnum opus, the action RPG was praised for its vast open world, gameplay systems, and world-building thanks to the collaboration between souls director Hidetaka Miyazaki and author George R.R. Martin.

Welcoming its first DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, in 2024, it has been two years since fans received any official Elden Ring content, other than its spin-off roguelike title Elden Ring Nightreign. As such, fans have been finding ways to return to the Lands Between.

Elden Ring Reforged Is A Perfect Overhaul

Created by Kirnifr and the Reforged team, Elden Ring Reforged is a free-to-download mod available on PC courtesy of Nexus Mods. As a “thorough overhaul” for Elden Ring, the mod aims to promote “deep engagement with the world”, as well as allowing you to create your ideal character fantasy, and even features revised combat mechanics.

First uploaded back in 2022, but still receiving updates to this day, Elden Ring Reforged is the perfect excuse to start yet another Elden Ring playthrough, as it promotes “get strong quick” routes that are otherwise absent from the main game. Additionally, many previous weak and underused strategies in the game have now received a rework, making them fun and competitive.
