Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle did the unthinkable and raised the bar even higher than what was set by the franchise’s first movie, Mugen Train. It was a phenomenal achievement, kicking off the final arc in spectacular fashion and leaving a massive imprint on the 2025 box office charts. But fans may be left feeling disappointed by the anime’s upcoming release.
Originally confirmed on February 8, 2026, and recently hyped at AnimeJapan 2026’s Red Stage, Demon Slayer is rebroadcasting its entire anime on Fuji TV and affiliated stations in Japan. Its rebroadcast begins on April 5, 2026, airing in order every Sunday morning at the 9:30 AM – 10:00 AM JST slot, with the event giving no news on Infinity Castle.
Demon Slayer Hypes 2026 Rebroadcast Nobody Expected
Given that the announcement for Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle immediately followed the conclusion of season 4, this latest update, and their AnimeJapan 2026 appearance, may have left fans feeling a bit let down. A Japanese rebroadcast is certainly welcome, but beyond a mention of the anime’s next featured event at Machi★Asobi Vol.30 on May 16, there’s little to work with.
Demon Slayer Officially Returns February 20 With 2026’s Best Anime Comeback
While Demon Slayer’s latest cinema release is exciting, it’s not perhaps the Part 2 news fans were hoping for.
Beyond some other niche announcements like the Blu-ray jacket illustration for Kimetsu no Utage – Hashira Training Arc, the arc’s live performance releasing May 27, and its soundtrack’s vinyl release on June 24, fans are left still idly speculating on more news. All that being said, though, the anime team remains excited, particularly Sakonji Urokodaki’s voice actor, saying:
From the time Demon Slayer was announced to the world until today, there hasn’t been a day that has passed without this work being discussed in the media. With this rebroadcast, it will surely catch the attention of a new generation of people. I have a feeling that this will also be an opportunity for many people to experience it again. As a performer, there’s nothing that makes me happier than this.
-Hōchū Ōtsuka
Given the renewed passion and energy audiences had going to see Infinity Castle worldwide, this sentiment is by no means wrong. Having a regular feed of each of the anime’s beloved episodes will certainly not hurt in keeping the excitement alive, but it risks letting its hype die in the long term similarly to how the 100-day promo before Infinity Castle dragged on.
Fans Must Wait a Bit Longer for Infinity Castle News
While there’s no guarantee that a similar convention will host the Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 2 announcement everybody wants, it’s the best bet for now. This latest update is yet another confirmation that there are no plans to release the next movie in 2026, following the current hopes for a 2027 and 2029 window for Parts 2 and 3, respectively.
Meanwhile, a weekly feed of the anime’s run obviously doesn’t guarantee a trailer at the conclusion of episode #63, either. Barring any surprises at Machi★Asobi Vol.30 and big events like Anime Expo, Anime NYC, or Jump Festa 2027, it’s best to stay tuned to the official Demon Slayer Twitter account, as well as their primary news portals.
